Simple Bundles Integration Setup
Take deposits and split payments on bundled products by pairing Downpay with Simple Bundles. This is especially useful for pre-order bundles, made-to-order bundles, and higher-priced bundles where paying in full upfront may reduce conversion.

Key things to know before setup
Overview
Downpay is compatible with Simple Bundles 1.0 and 2.0. When set up correctly, customers can pay a deposit on a bundle at checkout and have the remaining balance collected automatically later, just like any other Downpay order.
Simple Bundles maintains a full setup guide for this integration with step-by-step instructions and screenshots. Rather than duplicate it here, we recommend following their guide directly.
Key things to know before setup
Before following the Simple Bundles guide, there are a couple of important things to understand about how Downpay works with bundles:
Apply Downpay to the bundle product, not the individual items. Simple Bundles creates a separate Shopify product for each bundle. Your Downpay purchase option must be created on that bundle product. If you apply it to the individual component products instead, the deposit option will not appear correctly on the bundle page.
Each bundle needs its own purchase option. Because each bundle is a separate product in Shopify, each one needs to be added to a Downpay purchase option individually.
Bundle purchase options override component purchase options. If the individual items inside a bundle already have Downpay purchase options, those will be overridden when the customer purchases through the bundle product. This is expected behaviour.

FAQ
Does this work with Simple Bundles 1.0 and 2.0?
Yes. Downpay is compatible with both versions of Simple Bundles.
Can I apply Downpay to the individual items inside the bundle instead of the bundle product?
You can, but it will not work correctly for bundle purchases. The deposit option must be applied to the bundle product itself so it appears correctly at checkout.
What if my component products already have Downpay purchase options?
When a customer purchases through the bundle product, the bundle's Downpay purchase option takes over. Any purchase options on the individual component products are overridden. This is expected behaviour.
Do I need a separate Downpay purchase option for each bundle?
Yes. Each bundle is its own Shopify product, so each one needs to be assigned to a Downpay purchase option individually.
The deposit option is not showing on my bundle page. What should I check?
The most common cause is that the purchase option was applied to the component products instead of the bundle product. Confirm the purchase option is active in Downpay and assigned to the correct bundle product.
