Automating payment collections and more
Downpay has a library of triggers and actions for Shopify Flow that can streamline and simplify payment collection:
- Triggers based on the result of collections or authorizations, upcoming dates, and more
- Actions such as payment collections and authorizations, and adding or removing products or variants from purchase options
- Sample downloadable Flows for you to use and customize
Empowering your customers
Sometimes the best solution is to let customers take care of things themselves. We've got options:
- Explore Downpay's best practices guidelines for offering a high trust partial payment experience on Shopify
- Enable Downpay's customer order portal to let customers update their payment method
- Add a Pay Now button to the confirmation email sent to customers
- Optional: Allow customers to cancel orders through the portal
- Optional: Customize the boilerplate text for the payment terms and cancellation policy
Customizing Downpay subtotals on the cart page
Downpay can display subtotals on the cart page to help customers understand payments more clearly:
- Enable the cart embed in your theme
- Adjust formatting, placement, and appearance options
Customizing Downpay elements on the product page
You may wish to customize how the Downpay block appears on your product page further to fit your brand:
- Adjust formatting, placement and appearance including display currency and dates
Editing and removing dates
Shopify requires release dates, but we know that things aren't always that clear-cut. Many times, you won't know the exact date, so you put in a best estimate.
If you're using a current Downpay plan, you can use due on fulfillment.
On legacy plans, you'll need to configure Downpay to provide a due date, and then change what customers see in your storefront.
In both cases, you can edit your default theme content to provide exactly the customer experience you want.
Here are all the places that date (or "due on fulfillment" language) will show up and how to edit it, or remove it altogether:
- Edit or remove it from the product page
- Edit or remove it from the checkout and order pages
- Edit or remove it in customer emails
