Add products by tag to Downpay

You can assign an existing or new tag to a Downpay purchase option to offer deposits on a large group of products.

Review the tags you wish to use in Shopify before beginning these steps. For more information on adding tags in bulk, review Shopify's guide to add and remove tags in bulk.

1. Navigate to Downpay, and create a new purchase option.

2. Select the tag option and click into the search box to begin selecting tags

3. Select the other options you wish to enable for the purchase option and click save

Assignment by tag begins after saving and may take longer based on the amount of products being added. Assigned products will be displayed in the Products tab within a purchase option when completed.

Migrating to tag assignment in Downpay

If you have been using Downpay before this feature was released and want to switch to tag assignment, follow this guide to ensure a smooth migration.

1. Create a new purchase option with the exact same Purchase option name of the purchase option you are copying. This is critical as the name is used as an order tag to help you filter orders in Shopify accurately.

2. Click the tags tab and select the tags you wish to use to assign products to a Downpay purchase option. All current tags on your store will be displayed in Downpay for you to choose from.

3. Ensure the rest of the details about your purchase option are correct and then click save.

4. Tag assignment will begin after clicking save and may take longer based on the amount of products being added. Assigned products will be displayed in the Products tab within a purchase option when completed.

5. Once you can see products have been assigned to the purchase option, delete the old purchase option in Downpay. This will ensure all products are using the new tag assigned purchase option.

6. Products tagged in Shopify with the tags assigned in Downpay will stay in sync and display your purchase options on the storefront.

Add products with Shopify Bulk Editor

Shopify's product interface can be used to assign products to a purchase option.

1. Navigate to the Shopify product page from the left navigation bar

2. Apply the necessary filters to narrow down your product list to the products you wish to add to a Downpay purchase option.

3. Select all the products you wish to add and click ... at the bottom of the page and scroll down and select Add to Downpay purchase option under the Apps section.

4. Select which purchase option you would like to add the products to and confirm with the Add Products button.

5. Continue this workflow to add as many products as you require to a purchase option.
