Downpay integration with Klaviyo email campaigns

As more merchants tend to use Klaviyo for their emailing campaign model, we've integrated a couple of ways that you can use Klaviyo with Downpay.

Initial Klaviyo setup

To start with Klaviyo, you first need to navigate to their login / register page to create your new account. You can do that here. In Integrations section, make sure to connect your Shopify store and account.

There may be several more steps to complete setting up your account which you can follow within their setup guide step by step.

Obtaining API keys

After you complete your account setup, you may navigate to the Settings > Account > API Keys and then Create Private API Key. Once you create it, make sure to save it somewhere as you won't be able to fully see it again. We will need this key in order to set up Shopify Flows and send campaigns with Shopify Flow triggers.

Creating Email Flows through Klaviyo

Klaviyo offers certain triggers and actions like Shopify Flow does so you can use their Flow for sending emails too (like transactional ones). To create your transactional email, you may navigate to the Flows section > Create Flow button. You may select a pre-made Flow templates and edit them or you can Build your own template from scratch.

Once you have created it, you can go ahead and select a trigger that you'd like. We are going to use "Placed Order" trigger. After that, Save the trigger and continue connecting action blocks to it.

We'll add the Email block and select a template that suits our requirements. Best advice is to filter them by Shopify filter and find the one you like.

Once you select it, you may edit the template the way you want and add some custom variables if you wish (available when using Preview & test mode in template editor)

Once you've edited your template, you can go ahead and save it.

Sending transactional emails

To enable transactional emails with Klaviyo, you have to contact their support team to check your email and mark it as a transactional. You can contact their support through the Support button on the upper right corner on the Homepage or using their email success@klaviyo.com.

Note that each time you want to edit your template after it is marked as transactional you will lose the "transactional" status and will have to contact them again to enable it for you.

Setting up Shopify Flows

To set up some Shopify Flows with Klaviyo, you should first install the Flow app from Shopify if you haven't already and navigate to it. Then, choose Create workflow option and start from scratch. You can choose different triggers for your use case and set conditions upon you want to trigger a Klaviyo campaign.

Send Payment Reminder Email (2 weeks before due date)

This Flow will attempt to send a payment reminder email from Klaviyo 2 weeks before the next payment due date.

You can download this template [here](https://hypehound-public.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/Final+Payment+Reminder+Email+(2+weeks+before+due+date).flow).

Make sure to fill these fields with your data. You can obtain your API key from the step explained earlier in this article and the segment / template IDs will be available as the six-charachers value in the URL once you navigate and open your desired list / template. They usually look like "YAhZ6t".
