Shopify Payments 2. Stripe 3. Authorize.net (with certain systems) 4. Paypal Express 5. Adyen (Shopify Plus only) 6. To enable Paypal Express, review [Shopify's documentation](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/payments/paypal/set-up-paypal). --- --- ## Approval Shopify will automatically send Paypal a request for approval of **Reference Transactions** once enabled if Downpay is installed. This is displayed in your Shopify Paypal management screen as **Automatic Payments** with the status of **Pending Approval**. Reference Transactions allow you to recharge a customer’s credit card after an initial transaction has been completed. You will not need to input your customer’s credit card information to process a later transaction. ## What if you have been denied? Create a new email with the subject line reading **Approval for use of Reference Transactions with Shopify** and make it out to payflow-support@paypal.com. ###### Information to include in the appeal email Hi there, I need approval for Reference Transactions on Shopify in order to use an app that enables deposits and recharging a customer's credit card. My status on my Paypal Express Integration says "Denied". I have provided details below in order to help appeal this denial. Business information: * Business name * Business URL * Current/anticipated monthly sales via PayPal only (based on the last # months) * Number of repeat customers (past # months) Integration information: * Please describe what you intend to use Reference Transaction for. * Do you or your buyers need to initiate each subsequent payment themselves or are they processed automatically after the billing agreement is created? * Will this service be enabled within your website, mobile app integration, or both? * Are you integrating through another payment service provider, such as Worldpay or Ingenico? * Do you require the Reference Transactions product for use with your Shopping Cart to offer Subscriptions? (For example Woo-Commerce, Charge-Bee.) --- --- # Adyen Shopify Plus merchants using Adyen as their main payment gateway is supported for partial payment. --- --- [Jump to top](#6-on-this-page) # Payouts and charges explained ## Payouts Payouts on Shopify are based on a schedule set out by the merchant. For more information, review [Scheduling your Shopify Payments payouts.](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/payments/shopify-payments/getting-paid-with-shopify-payments/view-payouts/schedule-payouts) Downpay orders will be paid out by Shopify based on transactions and your payout schedule. For example, if a customer chooses to pay with a $500 deposit, that transaction will be paid out on your schedule and the balance will only be paid out after it is collected. ||| If you notice holds on your payouts, please contact Shopify to ask for more details. All Downpay payouts are fully managed by Shopify. ## Charges ### Shopify fees Similar to payouts, Shopify transaction and processing fees are based on transactions. For example, if a deposit amount at checkout was $500, Shopify will pay you out $500 less their transaction and processing fees on that amount. ### Downpay App Subscription Downpay's subscription fee is will be billed on your set billing cycle. [Overage charges](https://docs.downpay.app/en/article/1y0p3r4/#1-overage-charges) will be billed per Downpay order processed only if you surpass the limit of the Downpay plan you have subscribed to. --- --- [Jump to top](#6-on-this-page) # Testing and other settings ## Testing You may use the [Bogus Gateway](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/checkout-settings/test-orders) for testing or the test mode in many of the other payment gateways. For a guide, please review [Bogus Test Payment Gateway Guide](https://docs.downpay.app/en/article/bogus-test-payment-gateway-guide-3632w5/) For Stripe and Shopify Payments testing, refer to this [list of credit cards](https://docs.stripe.com/testing) to simulate various testing scenarios. ## Payment capture method Downpay works with any Shopify payment capture method found in your Payments settings page. ![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/81f235024a249800/screenshot-2024-11-14-at-84355_esu4qi.png) ### How each method works with Downpay || In this example, the order has a total cost of $110: a $10 deposit and a $100 remaining balance. 1. Automatically at checkout - Shopify will authorize and capture the $10 that is due today. The order will be marked partially paid and a card will be on file which you can use when you collect the balance. *This is the most common setup.* \*\*\*\* 2. Automatically when the order is fulfilled - Shopify will authorize the $10 that is due today and only capture that $10 when the order has been fulfilled. Since most customers using Downpay use it because orders are not fulfillable soon, this option may not be valuable. Authorizations expire after 7 days on most Shopify plans and 10-30 days on Shopify Plus. A card will be stored on file, but you will only be able to charge the whole remaining balance one time. *If you have access to the* [*Downpay partial pay beta*](https://docs.downpay.app/en/article/collect-partial-payment-on-deposit-orders-1mz38yb/)*, you can make multiple captures, defining the amount to capture each time.* 3. Manually - Shopify will authorize the $10 that is due today and only capture the $10 when you click the `Capture payment` button found on the order details page. Once this capture button is clicked, the `Collect payment` button will be visible, which includes the card on file for collecting the remaining balance. --- --- [Jump to top](#6-on-this-page)
